30-Day Bhagavad Gita Study
Karma Yoga
Day 8
You Have a Right to Action
“You have a right to perform your prescribed duties, but you are not entitled to the fruits of your actions. Never consider yourself the cause of results, and never be attached to inaction.”
— BG 2.47
Karma yoga means the path of freedom through action, meaning you find freedom through how you act, not through what you achieve. Its main idea is simple: you can control your actions, but you cannot control their results. Holding tightly to results is what causes suffering, not the action itself.
Reflection
What is one action you could take today with full engagement — where you genuinely release the need to control the result?
Today's Practice
Do the most important thing on your list today with your best effort. Then, when done, consciously let go of what happens next.
