Arjuna's Argument
“What pleasure shall we find in killing the sons of Dhritarashtra? Evil will come to us if we slay these aggressors.”
— BG 1.36
Arjuna is not arguing out of fear. He is arguing out of love. He lists everyone he might harm — his teachers, elders, and family — and says their deaths would tear apart society and the spirit of the people. His argument makes sense on its own terms. But the Gita will show that it is missing something.
