Knowledge as the Highest Purifier
“In this world, there is nothing so sublime and pure as transcendental knowledge. Such knowledge is the mature fruit of all mysticism and renunciation.”
— BG 4.38
Chapter 4 describes knowledge, called jnana in Sanskrit, meaning direct inner seeing, not facts. It is the understanding that comes when the mind is clear enough to see things as they truly are, not as our desires and fears make them look. When this knowledge arrives, it burns away the karma we have built up.
