Daily Gita Guidance
Bhakti
Day 11
What Makes Devotion Real
“One who is not envious, who is a kind friend to all, free from false ego, equal in distress and happiness — such a devotee is very dear to Me.”
— BG 12.13
Krishna doesn't describe real devotion (bhakti, or loving surrender to the divine) as a feeling — he describes it as behavior. Devotion that doesn't change how you treat people isn't devotion yet; it's just a preference. In the Gita, the real test of love always shows up in ordinary, everyday moments.
Reflection
Does your spiritual practice make you kinder, less reactive, and more genuinely present with the people in your daily life?
Today's Practice
Choose one person you find difficult. Today, treat them as if they deserve the same care as someone you love.
