Sustainable Power

Day 13

The Welfare of the People

Chanakya's teaching about looking after the people was purely practical, not idealistic. A prosperous population pays more in taxes, sends more soldiers, and is far less likely to rebel or help an enemy king. Taking care of people isn't a soft, idealistic choice — it's smart self-interest. A king who neglects his people is, in the end, weakening himself.

Reflection

In your work or leadership, do the people who depend on you genuinely benefit from your effectiveness — or do they pay the cost of it?

Today's Practice

Name one person who depends on your work in some way. Take one concrete step today to make their situation better — not yours.
