Day 19

The Qualities of the Devotee

One who is not envious but is a kind friend to all living entities, free from false ego, equal in distress and happiness — such a devotee is very dear to Me.

BG 12.13

Chapter 12 is the heart of the Gita's teaching on devotion. Krishna describes the qualities of the devotee he loves most, and every single one is about behaviour, not belief. Not a creed, not a ritual, just how you show up and how you treat others.

Reflection

Does your spiritual practice make you concretely kinder, less reactive, and more present with the people around you?

Today's Practice

Choose one person you find difficult and treat them today with the exact care you would give someone you love.
