Rest

Day 265

Rest as Dharma

“For one who is regulated in eating, recreation, work, and sleeping, yoga destroys all material distress.”

— BG 6.17

The Gita specifically includes rest and recreation as part of the path to freedom. Burning yourself out for the sake of your purpose isn't noble — it's failing to take care of the very thing your purpose works through: you. Renewal is part of the practice, not a break from it.

Reflection

Are you resting enough — not just sleeping, but genuinely releasing the effort of the day so that tomorrow has what it needs from you?

Today's Practice

Build one genuine rest into today — not distraction, but actual rest: walking without destination, sitting without agenda.
