Daily Gita Guidance
Three Gunas
Day 15
Reading the Gunas
“Among the three gunas, sattva, being untainted, is illuminating and full of well-being. It conditions one to happiness and knowledge.”
— BG 14.6
The gunas are three basic qualities of energy the Gita says everything is made of: tamas is heaviness and dullness, rajas is restless agitation, sattva is clarity. None of them is good or bad in itself — they're just different states. The Gita isn't asking you to get rid of tamas and rajas, just to notice which one is running the show right now.
Reflection
What quality of energy has been most present in you this week — heaviness, restless striving, or clear ease?
Today's Practice
Choose one activity today that reliably moves you toward clarity rather than heaviness or agitation. Do it without negotiating with yourself.
